Book (+Audio): Gems and Jewels

by Umm Muawiyah

Assalamu Alaikum.

Yes, it’s time for a book.

Here’s a really wonderful book that is both inspiring and funny (depending on which story you’re reading). It’s called “Gems and Jewels” and it’s a collection of sayings and interesting events that took place in the past (in the time of the Sahaabah (radiallahu anhum) and the scholars after them).

You can download the book as well as the audio version (for those who prefer listening) from the following website:

Note: I don’t agree with everything that is on this website. It has some incorrect books and lectures so beware.

      Wa Alaikum Assalam Sister.

I hope that you are well, insha-Allah.

No, it’s okay, I’ll reply here so that everyone else can read as well.

Yes, this site is one of the best ones for lectures and books. However, it does have its issues.

It’s with regards to their attitude towards the Muslim rulers. They have quite a few articles and books in the Aqeedah section that imply that all the Muslim rulers are kuffar, and this is not the attitude of Ahlus Sunnah. They do not declare a person to be a kaafir due to having committed major sins.

      Here’s one of those articles:

[Update: They have Shaikh Ibn Uthaimeen’s (rahimahullah) talk at the beginning of the page, as if to show they agree with his position. They do not because he did not do takfeer of Muslim rulers!]

That being said, they are not extreme takfiris, just mild ones. And most of their website is extremely beneficial. So may Allah reward them for this and guide them in regards to that wherein they have erred.

      Hope that helps, insha-Allah.
